HP OmniGo 700LX Communicator Plus
The HP OmniGo 700LX Communicator Plus is basically a HP
200LX Palmtop with a cradle for the Nokia 2110 (or compatible) GSM phone on
the top.
In addition, it has some new built-in applications which support the
GSM phone:
 | Fax application to send and receive faxes over the Nokia GSM phone, or via
any external or PCMCIA fax modem. |
| SMS program to send and receive SMS messages over the GSM network. |
| The DataComm and cc:Mail applications have been modified to support the
GSM phone in addition to external and PCMCIA modems. |
| The PhoneBook application has been modified to allow dialing any number on
the GSM phone with the press of one key. |
 Of
course our acCIS CompuServe Navigator also works
very well on the HP OmniGo 700LX.
Two different versions of the OmniGo 700LX have been available:
| OmniGo 700LX, 2 MB RAM, English language. |
| OmniGo 700LX, 2 MB RAM, German language. |
All models can be upgraded with the TechSpeed
double clock upgrade.
All accessories and add-on hardware for the HP 100/200LX palmtops are
compatible with the HP OmniGo 700LX with these exceptions:
| The AC adapters for the 200LX can not be used because the HP OmniGo
700LX has a different AC power connector. Instead, the AC adapter of the
Nokia GSM phone must be used. |
| The leather cases obviously won't fit because the HP OmniGo 700LX is much
thicker than the HP 200LX. |
