Links to palmtop related sites
The following are some sites that you may find interesting. Most of them are dedicated to the HP 100/200LX Palmtop computers.
D&A Software, Inc.
The homepage of Thaddeus Computing, publisher of The HP Palmtop Paper and the Handheld PC Magazine, contains lots of information about mobile computing, including an online version of their magazines, freeware and shareware programs, links to other palmtop-related sites, and FAQ (frequently asked questions) files.
Cameron's palmtop page
Www.palmtop.net and the S.U.P.E.R. site
Mobilis, the mobile computing lifestyle magazine is updated monthly and contains articles and information on all palmtops, not only the HP products. The stories are very interesting and cover all aspects of mobile computing. Highly recommended!
Yahoo HP 100/200LX Resource Page
HPLX.netDavid Sargeant's HPLX.net server hosts several very active discussion groups (similar to the "forums" on CompuServe) where almost anything which is related to HP 200LX and Windows CE palmtops can be discussed. The site also contains lots of useful information about HP 200LX hardware and software, interviews, FAQs, and many links to other interesting sites.
HPLX-LThis mailing list is maintained by Al Kind and discusses all aspects of the HP 200LX and related topics. This is probably the most popular and most active forum for HP 200LX users. To subscribe to the mailing list, go to http://www.sp.uconn.edu/~mchem1/HPLX.shtml and fill out the form. After that, you'll receive the messages from the mailing list in your email box.
As an alternative, the same messages can be downloaded in the form of a newsgroup from HPLX.net - simply send an email to HPLX-L with the body NOMAIL to prevent the mailing list from filling your mailbox, and download the messages from HPLX-L instead.
NewsgroupsThere are a few NewsGroups on the Usenet which discuss the HP Palmtops, among others. Check out:
CompuServeA very interesting group of HP Palmtop enthusiasts meets in the HP Handhelds Forum on CompuServe (GO PALMTOP). If you have a CompuServe account, you should definitely stop by the forum, participate in the ongoing discussions and also have a look at the palmtop related files in the forum libraries. Also, many vendors of Palmtop accessories and add-on products provide support in the forum.
AOLUse the keyword PALMTOP to find a discussion group for palmtop and handheld PCs as well as a selection of freeware and shareware programs.
Links for collectors and other freaks
Information about old HP devices, like calculators, palmtops, portable computers and even the famous HP-01 wrist watch, are available at the HP Museum web site. They also have a very extensive link list to sites of collectors and other enthusiasts.
A very active group of handheld and calculator enthusiasts have gathered in the Handheld and Portable Computer Club (HPCC), London, England. This is, as far as we know, the only active HP calculator group worldwide. The group produces 4 to 6 very informative magazines each year which are shipped worldwide. If you are into HP devices, HPCC really is a must.
