One of the great features of the HP Palmtops is the ability to run DOS programs. However, only one program can be running at any time, and the system memory which is available for DOS programs is quite limited because System Manager is running in the background all the time.

These limitations can now be overcome by using Software Carousel.

Software Carousel lets you set up up to a dozen “work areas” and switch easily among them. Run System Manager and the built-in programs in one, and run full-size DOS programs in any of the other .work areas You can even run the built-in applications in two or more work areas for unlimited flexibility. You will never run out of memory again!

	Add fast program switching to your Palmtop.
	All programs can use the maximum amount of memory.
	Run as many built-in programs at the same time as you like!
	Run multiple System Manager sessions to use more built-in applications at the same time.
	Run multiple DOS programs at the same time.
	Assign system memory up to about 600k to each session individually. Switch among up to 12 programs in a flash.
	Define your own hotkeys.
	Software Carousel recognizes special Palmtop keys for automatic program switching.
	Alarms sound and are displayed no matter which program you are using.
	Uses only a tiny amount of lower RAM; less than 30k.
	Software Carousel supports EMS to store parts of itself in upper memory.

To operate, Software Carousel creates a memory pool on your RAM disk (A: or C: drive). The time for swapping a full sized task is usually between 1 second (speed-upgraded palmtop with the memory pool on the C: drive) and about 8 seconds (memory pool on the A: drive). If the memory pool is created on a stacked flash card, the swap time may even be a little bit longer.

Therefore, our TechRAM and TechSpeed upgrades are extremely useful for power users as they provide the shortest possible swap times.

The new version 7 of Software Carousel adds a couple of new features and bug fixes to the older versions. An upgrade path is available for owners of version 6.x, please send a proof of purchase if you wish to order the upgrade.
