SanDisk Flash Memory Cards
PCMCIA
2.0 Type II cards for additional disk storage. The cards work in all HP Palmtop
PCs (except the 95LX), HP OmniBooks and most other computers with a PCMCIA 2.0
Type II slot and card and socket services.
Memory cards with a capacity of more than 220 MB don’t work in the HP 200LX
without special driver software.
Please note that we no longer offer PCMCIA cards with a capacity of less than
96MB. For such capacities, it is more economical to use one of the CompactFlash
memory cards combined with a CompactFlash adapter.
Sandisk CompactFlash I (CF I) Memory Cards
These cards work in most devices. An PCMCIA adapter card is available which
allows CF I cards to be used in any device with a regular PCMCIA card slot, for
example almost all notebooks.
Sandisk CompactFlash II (CF II) Memory Cards
CompactFlash II cards have higher capacities than CF I cards, and they are a
bit thicker. Both types of cards work in the Sharp Zaurus.
IBM Microdrive
The IBM Microdrives have been tested to work in the HP Jornadas and the Sharp
Zaurus, but power
consumption is quite high. We would not recommend to leave a Microdrive in the
card slot for extended periods of time.
Sandisk SecureDigital Memory Cards
The SD cards have the size of a small stamp and come in various capacities.
The Sharp Zaurus supports a CompactFlash (CF) card in its top slot and a
Secure Device (SD) card in the left slot. Both cards can be inserted at the same
time. If you plan to use a modem, network or camera card in the CompactFlash
slot, you should plan on getting a SD memory card instead of a CF card for
storage.
And other Manufacturers?
We found out that the Sandisk cards are one of the best brands
available. They work in cameras, handhelds, PDAs, computers, without any
problem, and we have yet to find a device where a Sandisk card wouldn't
work. That's the reason why we strongly recommend Sandisk (and don't
sell anything else). Sandisk cards may be a bit more expensive than
other brands, but we are sure that it pays in the long run. |
