Hardware for the Sharp Zaurus

The hardware which is listed here has been tested to be compatible with the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500G.

Linux-PDA with integrated Java machine, 64 MB SDRAM, 16 MB ROM, CompactFlash card slot, Secure Digital (SD) card slot, integrated keyboard with slide cover, reflective TFT display 240 x 320 pixels, 65k colors, touch sensitive; comes with USB docking cradle, AC adapter, and manual.

Accessories

For long periods of time without AC power, extra batteries are available from Sharp. These are the same as the one which comes originally with the Zaurus.

If your computer does not support USB, you may get the serial cable which is used to connect the docking station to a serial (RS-232C) port of your desktop computer.

A plug-on microphone is available for recording sound with the built-in Voice Recorder software, and an adapter plug is available which makes all standard phone headsets with 2.5 mm stereo plug usable with the Zaurus.
